Hollywood award shows are often full of who-wore-what discussions, but Sunday’s Emmy Awards should allow women to shine in a different way. Even with Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Lena Dunham nominated, women directed only 12% of TV episodes in the 2010-2011 season. Women hold only 28% of writing jobs in television, and even less in film writing. Check out this article from the Washington Post for more on women’s role in Hollywood.

What do you think tomorrow’s Emmy Awards mean for women? Are times changing?
