According to this Upstart article on the 2012 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report, women-owned U.S. businesses have generated $1.3 trillion in revenues, while employing 7.7 million people.
In the last year alone, women in the United States opened 200,000 news businesses, adding to a total of 8.3 million marjority-owned women-owned businesses in the U.S.
In which fields are women-owned businesses seeing the most growth? Education services, administrative and waste services, and construction.
In the words of Beyonce, “Who runs the world? Girls.”
