As an English major one of the most frequently asked questions I hear is, so what do you plan to do with that? Well that’s a good question. Many assume English majors are in it to become English teachers or professors. But that’s just not my style. My undergraduate advisor did a good job of convincing me that the skills taught in the humanities are indeed very marketable in other professional fields. Forbes magazine apparently feels the same way as they have taken a moment to profile some fabulous women who took their non-science or technology based degrees and have been beyond successful in the modern market. These women provide us humanities scholars with some great role models to teach us that your degree doesn’t define you! Read more from Forbes here!
